Inscription.
Dream Mountain Rope Tows were first operational during the Winter of 1938, owned and run by George "Tuffy" Conn. Named for the ideal snow and terrain features present in this region of the Eastern Sierra. It operated under a permit issued by the US Forest Service and was considered the second rope tow facility authorized in the June Lake Loop.

In 1941, the lease was sold to Don L. Almour and operated until 1945, when Charles "Chuck" Osborn purchased the lease from Almour and operated the rope tows for almost two decades. In 1959 the US Forest issued a "prospectus" limiting the number of ski facilities in the June Lake Loop.

Subsequently, June Mountain was successful in acquiring that authorization. With the loss of its skiing permit the popularity of skiing on Dream Mountain declined and by 1963 all official operations ceased.

Although its existence was brief, Dream Mountain greatly contributed to the legacy and development of recreational skiing in Mono County.
