Inscription. Alice Florence Sheriff
Daughter of B.F.J. Davis and Margaret Lucinda Ray born July 24, 1885, Bell County, Texas. Came to Reed community, Greer County, 1900 with her parents, brothers, and sisters in a covered wagon. Attended business college in Mangum and taught school before her marriage Feb. 17, 1910 to T.A. Sheriff in Sulphur Baptist Church. After this, her activities were limited to her church, home and family. She was devoted, warm hearted and gentle, with a warm sense of humor. Their children: Letha Myldred, Anna Lee, Joe Bob, James Carrol, Thomas Warren, Lewis Hershel, Mary Maliada and Jerry Wendell. Passed away May 1, 1970 in Hollis. Buried in Louis Cemetery.

Born June 17, 1872, at Bryan, Tex. Received A.B. degree from Weatherford College, Tex. Married Clara King of Throckmorton, Tex, came to Greer Co. in 1900 to become first supt. of schools of Granite and soon thereafter formed law partnership with A.R. and S.B. Garrett in 1916. Appointed Justice of Oklahoma Supreme Court commission by Gov. R.L. Williams. Was associate prosecutor in famous Osage murder cases in 1926. Member of First Baptist Church of Mangum. He had eight children, one died in infaticy. Carobeth and Mansur graduated from Hollis and Ali-Rosa, Marguerite, William, Tom and Lige graduated from Mangum. Died at the height of his career May 19, 1927. …
