1. Franklin School Park Marker

Inscription. Established in 2016, Franklin School Park is a neighborhood park designed in place of the former Franklin School building. The school served the neighborhood from 1921-1981 as an elementary and middle school. That neighborhood legacy continues with this visionary park developed with support from Mayor Tom Henry, the Fort Wayne Parks and Recreation Department, and the passionate neighbors who were committed to seeing the vision become a reality. The memory of the school lives on today in the four brick entry arches you see before you. The arches that once welcomed school children each day, now welcome all residents of Fort Wayne into Franklin School Park.
