Inscription. Pioneers who were first buried in the Presbyterian and Baptist Cemeteries were reburied in this plot. Among those resting here are: Carrett and Mary Verbryk Brewer, original owners of this ground in 1825; John S. and Jane Brewer Smock, who built the first cabin in Greenwood in 1825; James Smock, original landowner and first postmaster in 1823; and William Kinmer, the first person buried in Greenwood - 1827. Most of the early settlers came from Mercer County, Kentucky.
