hamburger, hot dog, Dr. Pepper, etc) were invented at the 1904 World's Fair in St. Louis, but all of them are considered to be popularized because of the Fair. One of those foods is the ice cream cone, which came from the story where an ice cream vendor at the fair ran out of bowls and turned to a nearby waffle stand, where he made the waffles into ice cream cones. It has been proven that ice cream cones were invented in 1888. In 2008, the ice cream cone became the State of Missouri's official state dessert.
