1. Huntersville School #2 Marker
Inscription. Area African American community, with Rosenwald Funds, built school in 1925, on land donated by O.W. Hunter. It was a joint effort of Booker T. Washington and Julius Rosenwald to educate African American children. From 1937-1958 "The Little School" housed grades 1-4 of Huntersville Colored HS (Torrence-Lytle). Since 1958, it is being used as the Torrence - Lytle Community Center.
