"Chicago Day" October 9, 1893 was the 22nd anniversary of the great Chicago Fire. Over 700,00 visitors attended that day to celebrate the restoration of the great city.
1893 Chicago was the site of the World's Columbian Exposition which extended from 55th to 67th streets on the south side of the city. Jackson Park Lagoon, the Midway and the Museum of Science and Industry are remnants of the wonderous "White City." It was a spectacular fair which drew people and products from around the globe.
