1. Farm Content Marker
Inscription. In 1760, David Shriver, Sr., son of German immigrants, settled here and built a grist mill and tannery. He rose to prominence as a Revolutionary War patriot, officer in the Maryland militia, framer of Maryland's 1776 constitution, and state legislator. The brick house, built ca. 1795, was the second home on the property.
 
Erected 2025 by Maryland Department of Transportation; Maryland Historical Trust.
