Inscription. This park is compromised of land generously donated by longtime Volga residents and once active business families Emerson and Dorotha Wolfe and Marvin and Pat Blase. The swimming pool complex, picnic shelters, sand volleyball court, horseshoe pit and the disc golf course are all located on the land from their visionary gift in 1976. In addition to this gift both Emerson Wolfe and Marvin Blase provided leadership to the Volga City Council serving as Volga Mayors. Wolfe from 1969-1975 and Blase from 1985-1989. The citizens of Volga and our visitors will enjoy the public recreation afforded by this park due to the spirit and community mindedness of these important civic leaders.
