Inscription.  
Dieses, von König Maximilian Joseph von Bayern i.J. 1808 gegründete und i.J. 1813 eröffnete, seit 1818 städtische Allgemeine Krankenhaus ist an die Stelle der i.J. 1809 aufgelösten vormaligen 4 Krankenanstalten Münchens:
des 1480 vom Rat der Stadt gegründeten Bruderhauses am Kreuz, des 1743 von den Gebrüdern Nockher gestifteten Nockherischen Stadtkrankenhauses am Anger, des 1752 erbauten Spitals der Barmherzigen Brüder zu St. Max und des 1754 von der römischen Kaiserin Maria Amalia gestiftelen Spitals der Elisabethinerinnen getreten.

(This general hospital, founded by King Maximilian Joseph of Bavaria in 1808 and opened in 1813, and a municipal hospital since 1818, replaced the four former hospitals of Munich that were dissolved in 1809: the Bruderhaus am Kreuz, founded in 1480 by the city council; the Nockherische Stadtkrankenhaus am Anger, founded in 1743 by the Nockher brothers; the Hospital of the Brothers of Mercy at St. Max, built in 1752; and the Hospital of the Elisabethinerinnen, founded in 1754 by the Roman Empress Maria Amalia.)
