For as much as a village is made up of its people, it is also the spaces they gather.
In 2009, a group of determined Grand Marais residents donated much time and effort and raised the funds necessary to purchase this Greenspace located in downtown Grand Marais atop Bay Hill. This purchase ensured a gathering space for community members and visitors alike, having since hosted events, both planned and unplanned, ranging from picnics, parades, farmers markets and so much more. Since its acquisition, the Greenspace has become an integral part of the Grand Marais community, and ensuring its preservation as a greenspace and providing an unobstructed view of the bay, remains of utmost importance into the future.

As Grand Marais changes and grows, the necessity to have untouched and undeveloped spaces for the betterment of all remains a top priority for this small village on the Lake Superior shoreline. In continuing the protection of the Greenspace, the intention is to provide such a space to be enjoyed by locals and visitors for the foreseeable future, wherein all have the opportunity to relish in the views, activities and
