1. Berlin/Kritner Cemetery Marker
Inscription.
Located in the Berlin community of Cullman, the Berlin/Kritner Cemetery is the burial place of many early residents. John T. Warren established what became known as Warren Cemetery, originally to serve as the resting place for victims of diphtheria, Warren's own family members typhoid fever, and premature births. were laid to rest here when his daughter. Lenora Warren Turner and grandson. Leon Turner, passed away in childbirth on November 18, 1900. The cemetery was later known as both the Old Berlin Cemetery and the Kritner Cemetery. The Kritner and Turner families,together with other area residents, work to ensure the cemetery is still remembered after years of neglect and vandalism. Families buried here include Angel, Davenport, Glasscock, Harden, Kritner, Long, Ramey, Schnittker, Stisher, Turner, Walker and Warren.
