Inscription.
At this point, General Lee’s army would change its line of march: Gordon’s corps now took the lead while Longstreet’s corps became the rearguard. They would continue to be pursued by Union army corps under Generals Humphreys and Wright.

Location. Marker has been permanently removed. It was located near 37° 24.577′ N, 78° 33.314′ W. Marker was near Sheppards, Virginia, in Buckingham County. It was at the intersection of Francisco Road (Virginia Route 636) and New Store Road ( Route 609), on the right when traveling west on Francisco Road. Marker is at a pulloff just west of New Store Road (609). Touch for map. Marker was in this post office area: Farmville VA 23901, United States of America.
