Inscription.
William J Hayden-Corporal U.S. Army WW I, enlisted 1917-1919 serving in France, Battery F, Eighteenth Regiment Field Artillery in recognition of and appreciation for his time and effort in serving the people of Paterson. The area of Pennington Park on McBride Avenue between Dayton Street and Slippery Rock Brook is hereby designated "Hayden Heights" Veterans Memorial Plaza by authority of the Park Commission resolution dated December 10, 1969.
