Nat King Cole
Nathaniel Adams Coles, known professionally as Nat King Cole, was an American singer, jazz, pianist, song writer, actor and the first African American to host an American television series. He was best known for his soft baritone voice which he used to perform in big band and jazz genres. His contributions in the music industry and are considered a significant influence on early rock and roll. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
Gordon Parks
Gordon Parks was an American photographer, musician, writer, and film director who became prominent in U.S. Documentary photojournalism in the 1940s - 1970s. Parks is the first African American to produce and direct major motion pictures, relating the experience of slaves and struggling Black Americans.
Charley Pride
Charley Pride was an American country singer, guitarist and professional baseball player. His greatest musical success came in the mid 1970s as the bestselling performer for RCA Records since Elvis Presley. He is one of three African American members of the Grand Old Oprey (DeFord Bailey and Darius Rucker are also members). Charley Pride was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2020.
