During the restoration between 1952 and 1953, thousands of artifacts were uncovered surrounding Hager's Fancy.
Dr. Henry Chandlee Forman, archaeologist and art historian led the archaeological dig along the foundation of the western side of the house. It revealed the remnants of an old foundation and other historic artifacts.
