Inscription.
This garden is dedicated to the memory of Leah Walker (May 10, 1982 - April 10, 2023). Leah served as the Site & Events Manager of the Aiken County Historical Museum from September of 2016 until her passing in April of 2023.

Leah was a strong Appalachian woman from the Saint Clair community of Bulls Gap, Tennessee. She was an incredible storyteller, a fierce friend, a passionate educator, an a force to be reckoned with. She lived for her family. She loved Birkenstock shoes, tiny houses, and tiny dogs. She was a huge fan of Dolly Parton, the Golden Girls, and overly dramatic TV shows. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, which is why the museum started its Spooky Tours event in October of 2017.

Leah was taken from us too soon by cancer. To keep her memory alive, this garden was dedicated on what would have been her 42nd birthday — May 10, 2024. The Leah Walker Storyteller's Garden is a place to share stories and celebrate those who bring light into our lives.
