Historic Columbia has re-established this site's distinctive gardens following a phased garden restoration plan made possible through years of support from the Darnell W. and Susan F. Boyd Foundation. Information from a variety of historic resources including photographs, letters, newspaper articles, college yearbooks, and other documents about the gardens that adorned this site guided the construction of previously missing elements, such as this gatehouse.

Architect's Rendering of Gate House

Photographs of the property during its time as a women's college provided important evidence for architects who rendered drawing for a modern replica of the site's former gatehouse, historically referred to as a summer house.
