1. Women In War - Vietnam War Marker
Thousands of women in all branches of the Armed Forces served in the Vietnam War. They worked in a multitude of fields - from physical therapy to military intelligence. U.S. Army women helped train their counterparts in the Vietnamese Women's Armed Forces Corps. Some women were assigned to the Women's Army Corps Detachment in support of United States Army-Vietnam, others worked directly for a military or government organization. Army nurses and Department of the Army civilians provided critical care both int he medical arena and in support of troops' morale and welfare. Women returned home highly decorated; they were awarded the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, and Air Medal to name a few. The war in Vietnam was the last in which women participated as members of a separate Women's Army Corps.

2. Women In War trail
This marker is the one of a series along a walkway east of the U.S. Army Women's Museum.

In 2025 the garrison opened the old 19th Street gate as a public access route to the Museum Enclave - which includes this marker and the Army Women's and Quartermaster Museums as well as the limited-access Ordnance Training Support Facility (housing parts of the Aberdeen Proving Ground collection) - by changing the security perimeter to exclude the museums and enable direct public access.
