1. Honolua Store Marker
Built in 1929 by pineapple plantation carpenters, the company store was once the central gathering place for the village residents. It was here that plantation workers brought most of their supplies, caught up on the news of the day and read labor union notices on the bulletin board. Although the wood frame building has undergone numerous renovations, the exterior facade still looks much like the same as it did early last century.
Today, the Honolua Store is the central feature of the Kapalua Resort. Visitors enjoy a sense of its history while they sample local style food , purchase field ripened pineapples, and browse in the general store atmosphere packed with remembrances of a visit to Kapalua.
