1. John Fauth House Marker

Inscription. Constructed about 1857 from Indianola lumber. Served as residence, school teachers boarding house and barrel shop. Here Fauth fashioned fine furniture from native walnut. In his barrels Fauth shipped cane syrup and tabasco peppers from JB Wells' Willow Springs Ranch to Louisiana for production on McIlhenny Plantation. Restored 1964 by Ross Boothe.
