Craney Island
To Commemorate the Organization of the Portsmouth Light Artillery August 14, 1809. And to perpetuate its war Rosters, under two flags. Roll in the U.S. Service at Craney Island June 22, 1813.

More about this monument. Each of the Confederate sides also has name engravings. The monument is unusual in that it features both US soldiers (Battle of Craney Island side) and Confederate soldiers that fought against the US (Sharpsburg, 2nd Manassas, and Malvern Hill sides) - and thus both flags. It was dedicated on June 8, 1906. The shaft is eighteen feet high, of rough Virginia granite, with four polished sides.
