1. The Central Hotel and Alois Bube Brewery Marker
Inscription. In 1869 Alois Bube came to the United States as a twenty-five-year-old Bavarian immigrant. In 1876 he purchased a small brewery at this location from Philip Frank 'the Maltster'. Three years later Alois erected a larger Brewery and the Central Hotel here. Bube's Brewery is the only one, of hundreds of "Lager Era" breweries remaining intact in the United States today. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
