Come To The Table. Ceramic Tile and Mirror. This mosaic celebrates shared meals and cultural richness through symbols of dining and craftsmanship. Elements honor diverse communities represented through motifs such as an Indian teapot pouring into a Japanese cup, a Latinx bowl, Kente cloth, Polish folk art, American quilting, Chinese cranes, and Mexican embroidery. Expressive hands embody care across generations: an elder pouring into youth and a youth serving an elder, reflecting the cycle of life. Surrounding botanical imagery-young and blooming strawberry plants-symbolizes growth, wisdom, and legacy. , , Created through a collaboration between Oak Park Township and the Oak Park Area Arts Council (OPAAC). This mural celebrates intergenerational connection and communal dining, using pottery, dishware, textiles, and symbolic imagery to honor the cultural richness of the Oak Park Township Senior Service Center's diverse community.
