1788-1863

Created by virtue of a Royal Decree of Philip II, King of Spain, 1583. Served as the highest court in the Spanish East Indies and presided over by the Governor-General. Building for the Audiencia constructed on this site, 1788; destroyed by earthquake, 1863. Site presently occupied by a 20th Century fire station.
 
Erected by Intramuros Administration.
