1. The Pleasure Pavilion Marker
Inscription.
Construction of the pavilion began in June 1904. It became the social center of the town, offering such activities as swimming, dancing, skating, and basketball. It was damaged by several hurricanes and razed in 1935.

In the same year it was replaced by the Round House which continued to be the focal point of community activities, especially during the war years of the 1940's and the early 1950's. Hurricane Carla destroyed this pavilion in 1961.

In 1988, a new roof was constructed on the existing foundation, which blew off in Hurricane Claudette in 2003.
