The Luther hosted several famous entertainers who came to lift the spirits of the troops during WWII. Among these illustrious visitors were USO performers Rita Hayworth, Carole Landis, Artie Shaw, Guy Lombardo and Victor Mature. In the 40s and 50s, big bands, including Tie Tieman, Tex Beneke, Harry James, Bob Crosby, and Artie Shaw, also graced the stage.
