Rita Hayworth
| | Hotel Fence Wrap Exhibit Walk | |
Hayworth was a major movie star in the 1940s, a pin-up girl for military servicemen, and a beauty icon for women. A quote from Charles and Elsie's son "Buddy" Luther's obituary in 2014:
"A memory Charles cherished was of waiting at the foot of the stairs of the hotel for Rita Hayworth to come down from her room. When she saw him she said, 'Oh, what a cute little boy!' and kissed him on his forehead."
