1. Native Son Keeps the Legacy Alive Marker

Inscription.
At the end of December 2022, Nick Herman, whose father met his mother when stationed at Camp Hulen during WWII, heard our "Save the Luther" plea on The Texas Standard radio broadcast. He made a higher counteroffer to buy the Hotel to restore it, but it was ignored. The PPA and the media also got the attention of seven lawyers who were also preservationists. These heroes gave of their time to acquire several temporary restraining orders and legal judgements to further delay the demolition.
