Inscription.
Caroline Kerfoot (mid-1800s) was enslaved in Africa and brought to America. Because she rose at dawn and called others to prayer in an unknown language, people believed her to be Muslim. In Falls Church, she was known as a deeply religious woman, strong of character, who prayed several times a day.
