What is this?
You've found yourself in the beautiful, evergreen-shaded retirement home of some of New York City's hardest-working employees—our beloved playground animals. They've spent their careers teaching important life lessons (wait your turn!), and happily enduring heatwaves, snowstorms, and a few facelifts for the greater good.
That's why we've moved these animals from their original playgrounds to Flushing Meadows Corona Park to enjoy their well-earned retirement. Now they can catch a ballgame, cool off in the spray of the Unisphere, or just watch the clouds float by. All of us at NYC parks invite you to visit our retired animals and thank them for their years of dedicated service.
