Inscription.

For Bud, the E-Way became a challenge.
He was a Dane County Board Member from 1974-1984 and a Park Commission Member from 1982-1984 & 1986-1992.

In this excerpt from a "Letter from Mother Nature" to the people of Dane County, Bud compared the E-Way to Mother Nature's Bedroom, and asked for their support.

"In Mother Nature's Bedroom there will be an E-Way. Some believed your wetlands are only for rats and have no other value. They are now learning, however slow, that your wetlands, surface water, and aquifers are important for our survival.

Please be patient Mother Nature as they learn how intricate your system is balanced and how essential it is for each "rat" to play its part.

You have spoiled us with your abundance which we waste each day without anticipating that these resources cannot be replaced. Tonight, we are again faced with a decision on the purchase of some wetlands for the E-Way corridor"

The purchase passed, and you are standing in a portion of "Mother Nature's Bedroom" that was Bud Morton's dream.
