Inscription. The varied habitats of the Greensprings Greenway provide clean water, food, shelter and a safe place for birds to raise their young. Approximately 250 species of birds regularly visit the Williamsburg area. More than 150 species, including Warblers, Flycatchers, Sparrows, Orioles, Cuckoos and Tanagers, have been documented along the trail. Some of these are Neotropical migratory species from Central and South America. This trail sign depicts an Osprey, which is in residence from March through October. Bald Eagles are also frequent visitors to this conservation area. In the midst of significant habitat loss in the Eastern United States, the Greensprings Greenway is a friendly place for Birds.
