Inscription.
Gen. N.B. Forrest (CSA) captured wagon train and supplies of Col. Streight's raiders (USA).

Forrest continued his relentless pursuit eastward toward final capture of Streight.

Erected 1952 by Alabama Historical Association.

2. Federal Raid Marker

Forrest was able to quickly catch up with Streight's Union troops, forcing Streight to abandon, and set on fire, five of his six wagons, loaded with supplies and contraband. Forrests' men arrived soon after and were able to capture most of the items. John Preston Watts Brown diary, p. 111.
