Inscription.

English Translation:
The monument was erected in memory of the Nuremberg soldiers who fell in the war against France of 1870/71. It also commemorates the suppression of the Boxer Rebellion in China in 1900/01 and the almost complete destruction of the Herero people in 1904/06 in what is now Namibia.

Today, the monument can serve as a memorial reminding us of the senselessness of wars against our neighbors in Europe, as well as the suffering and sacrifices of the peoples of the countries that were subjugated and plundered at that time in the Third World.

Erected 1998 by Nuremberg.
