1925 map showing the mud run, launder & the dikes

2019 aerial view showing the mud run, launder & the dikes

The 1925 Map of the Milford Mines Property documents a "mud run", "launder" and a series of dikes to the north and west of the mines [sic] main shaft. The mud run is a channel around the north side of the rock pile, which connects to the launder that runs north of the the [sic] mine's spur track. The launder connects to a holding pond created to the west of the mine through the use of natural landforms and dikes. These features carried the water being pumped out of the working area away from the mine.

You can clearly see on the 2019 image where both the launder and mud run used to be. The dikes have since been removed from the wetland but have been drawn in on the photograph for reference. If you look north (in front of this sign) you can make out both the launder and the mud run.
