The short term goal of B.A.T.S. was to improve and maintain diamonds 1-13. In 1988, the first major project took place with the demolition and replacement of the concession stand at diamonds 1, 4 & 5, today's Gary Ogle Complex. The stand was built with $45,000 in donated materials and labor, and is still in use today; it was a glimpse of future projects to come.
The long range vision of B.A.T.S., with their "whatever it takes" approach, would help Lou Berliner Sports Park become a destination site for local, state, regional and national tournaments.
