B.A.T.S. is a non-profit, all volunteer board that supports, fosters, aids and enhances the sports programs for the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department.
In 1986, five softball enthusiasts met to discuss ways to improve the fields and facilities at Berliner Sports Park. They approached the city with a simple concept, "How can we help?" They asked for nothing in return, and from there, the partnership with the city has grown.
In 2006, B.A.T.S. refocused its mission and expanded from solely serving the softball community at Berliner Park to include all sports across the city. Through the core values of growth, service, impact and excellence, B.A.T.S. continues its dedication and commitment, helping to establish Columbus as a destination site for amateur sports.
From 1987 through 2018, B.A.T.S. donated over $10,000,000 in improvements.
