The Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Louisiana dedicates this site to Capt. W. W. Leake, S.W. Confederate Army and Lt. Commander John E. Hart, Mason and Union Naval Officer whose death and burial June 12, 1863 halted the Civil War for a brief moment and proved that brotherhood can surmount all obstacles. Below this plaque is a time capsule containing artifacts from the Masons of Louisiana and the citizens of the town of St. Francisville, The capsule is to be opened by Feliciana Lodge #31 on June 12, 2063.
