Gegründet 1803. Die historischen Bestände, aufgestellt im barocken Bibliothekssaal, stammen aus den umliegenden säkularisierten Klöstern und der Jesuitenbibliothek. Heute erfüllt sie die Aufgaben einer modernen wissenschaftlichen Regionalbibliothek.

The entrance tunnel to the church and library buildings. The State Library Amberg – Provincial Library marker is on the right side of the passageway and the Maltese Complex marker and the St. Georg marker are both on the left side of the passageway.
