Die zweiflügelige Anlage aus der ersten Hälfte des 16. Jahrhunderts diente als Baustadel („Bauhaus“), Getreidespeicher und städtisches Zeughaus, seit dem 1989 abgeschlossenen Umbau als Stadtmuseum.

English:
The two wings of the building, dating from the first half of the 16th century, were where Amberg's building materials used to be stored; it also served as the town's granary and arsenal. Rebuilding work having been completed in 1989, it now houses the Town Museum.
