Discarded into the water and recovered in 2020, these concrete posts are from the four cemeteries near Tanners Creek at Point Lookout, Maryland.

The federal government consolidated four cemeteries between the years 1867 and 1868.

Three of the original cemeteries had been designated for Confederate burials and the fourth as a smallpox cemetery.
