1. Edinboro Grange #947 Marker
Men and women actively involved in agriculture met in Washington, D.C. in 1867 to organize the grange to promote the advancement of agriculture and advocacy for farmers at the state and national levels. Tilling land and tending livestock kept farm families busy, but monthly meetings provided a network for building prosperity and educating farmers. With membership growth during the 20th century, Grange #947 needed a permanent home. Members purchased Whipple's Blacksmith Shop and Carriage House and moved it to this location. The building served members from 1937-1995 until it was sold to Parker's Picture Framing Gallery.
