Inscription.
This quaint family home once belonged to the Floyd Marble family. Floyd was the youngest son of Webster Marble. Born on June 20th, 1891, in Gladstone. His first job was as cashier of the Gladstone State Savings Bank, but he was also deeply involved in the Marble Manufacturing family business.

He served as Secretary/Manager of the Bay-de-Noc Transportation Company. Military service following WWI at Rock Island and was part owner of the Northwest Manufacturing in Manistique.

He was involved in many positions within the family business from working in the factory to becoming Vice President after his father died. He was also President of Marble Card. Floyd loved to hunt and belonged to the Northern Sportsmen's Club.

FLoyd married Adella Aikin Sept. 6th, 1918, and they had three children. Jean, Ellen and Lansing. He later married Mary McIntosh and had two more children. Rosemary and Daniel.

Floyd died at the hunting camp at Round Lake on Nov. 16th, 1937 at the age of 46. His wife Mary then acquired his positions in the family business.
