Inscription. As of 2018, this white oak is estimated to be 313 years old. When it sprouted only a few Mingos lived near the river and wolves would have been common visitors. Our old oaks and maples are a remnant of pre-settlement mixed oak forest and remain due to this land being settled first by cattle ranchers then becoming a cemetery in the "rural cemetery" style.
