1. 124 West Elder Marker

Inscription. Built in 1861, 124 W. Elder first housed coffee shop proprietor William Schrendenbach. After the turn of the century, commercial businesses housed in the space included a millinery shop, a candy shop, a toy store, and a furniture store. From the 1960s until 2017, the commercial space sat vacant. Individuals lived upstairs until a bad fire in 1968; thereafter, city directories and newspapers listed only two residential tenants. In 2017, The Beautiful Bags Lady moved into the building.

Erected 2025 by America 250-Ohio Commission.
