This park is dedicated to the memory of Warren C. Lineberry, a "country lawyer" who was instrumental in improving this community from 1962 until his death.
A native of Galax, VA and alumnus of the University of Richmond, he was a former Commonwealth's and County Attorney and a founder of the Great Oaks Country Club. He helped secure funding for local schools and road improvement, was counsel to Citizens Telephone Cooperative, the Bank of Floyd and numerous other organizations and persons.
