Floyd in Floyd County, Virginia — The American South (Mid-Atlantic)
Warren G. Lineberry Community Park
The park is a dream come true for many people in our community. Beginning when the Floyd Town Council in 2006, when it purchased the site for the town's first park from Grey Lineberry, who wanted to honor his father, the late Warren G. Lineberry, a local attorney who played a little bass and guitar. Floyd's Town Council collaborated with the Partnership for Floyd to pursue this project. The Partnership formed a park committee which became the driving force behind the project which today is the park we all enjoy.
The Park Committee and hundreds of their friends throughout Floyd and beyond contributed funds, labor, products, expertise, talent and time to construct the park from the abandoned orchard of years past to a neglected patch of briars of more recent years to today's green space for all to enjoy.
We sincerely thank everyone, including those on the lists below, who has contributed and continues to maintain this beautiful space for our community.
Our thanks to all who contributed.
