Inscription. Rock Solid Skoglund was an unwavering leader on the sidelines of the Cape field hockey program for both middle school and high school squads. Serving three different tenures as head coach, Skoglund was the go-to coach for dialing in success. Her five-year reign 1992-96 included a record of 61-15-10 and a 1995 state championship victory over Tower Hill in a record seven overtimes over two days. As head coach 1980-82 she led the Vikings to a combined record of 19-1-2 including an undefeated 1980 season. Skoglund was back for a third stint at the helm in 2000-02. Her undefeated Vikings reached the state final in 2000 losing to Tower Hill 3-2. Coach Skoglund also introduced young athletes to field hockey at Rehoboth and Lewes junior high schools in addition to coaching basketball and softball. Skoglund brought the power to Cape's modern day field hockey powerhouse.
