1. Lake Shore Cemetery Marker
Inscription. Established in the early 1800's, the first known burial was in 1822. The cemetery contains grave sites of the city's earliest settlers. Legend has it that two seamen, lost in the Battle of Lake Erie in 1813, are buried in unmarked graves. Also included are the grave sites of a veteran of the Revolutionary War, five veterans of the Civil War and five veterans of World War I.
